Joerose Tharakan is an Alliance Partner Manager with Microsoft Corp. Originally from Cochin in south India, she holds a BA in Mathematics & Economics from Colby College and an MBA from Yale School of Management. She is actively involved with a number of organizations including The Colby College Board of Trustees, Ivy Child International, The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, St. Paul’s Cathedral and Carnegie Libraries of Pittsburgh. She enjoys traveling, theater, soccer and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Joerose talked to us about her work in the tech industry and her long and fascinating journey from India to the U.S.

Rachel Ekstrom Courage has spent her 15-year publishing career working with debut, bestselling, and award-winning writers. She started out in the publicity departments of St. Martin’s Press, Minotaur Books, and Penguin and is currently an agent at the Irene Goodman Literary Agency. Rachel is the co-founder of Littsburgh, which showcases Pittsburgh’s vibrant literary scene. We talked to her about favorite books,  why she co-founded Littsburgh and what it's like being a woman in the publishing industry.

Nina Barbuto is founder and director of Assemble, a community space for arts + technology. On her own, Nina works in a variety of media including architecture, film, sound, and installation and often explores the idea of recycling noise into a system or elevating the vernacular to the spectacular. Nina co-founded I Made It! Market in 2007. She holds degrees in architecture from Southern California Institute of Architecture and Carnegie Mellon University, where she is also adjunct faculty. She talked to us about growing Assemble and how the organization's youth programs help instill confidence in boys and girls.

Libby McKnight is an actor born and raised in Pittsburgh.  She fell in love with theatre while performing and training with Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera, Pittsburgh Musical Theatre, Point Park University, and Carnegie Mellon schools of Drama and Music. She currently lives in New York City, and this fall she will begin her final year of training at The Juilliard School, where next May she will receive her Masters in Fine Arts.
Libby talked to us about the challenges of being a woman in the acting profession and why she prefers "actor" to "actress."
